About Us

The world’s finest horn jewelry from Salzburg

The Story of Edelhorn

The art of being unmistakable

We at Edelhorn are a creative company specializing in the design and handcrafting of horn jewelry. Our unique style and relentless pursuit of perfection bring joy to thousands of customers in Austria and over 40 countries around the globe every day.

How It All Began

Since its founding, Edelhorn has been synonymous with exclusive horn jewelry. Our breakout came in 2009 at the Christkindlmarkt at Freyung and the Christmas Market at Karlsplatz in Vienna, where our elegant designs debuted.

Inspired by this success and growing enthusiasm, we continued showcasing our craftsmanship at markets and fairs across Austria and internationally.

In May 2017, we opened our first permanent flagship store on Goldgasse in Salzburg’s historic Old Town, offering personalized service year-round. Due to growing demand, we moved in September 2020 to a larger, more exclusive space just next door at Goldgasse 16.

Design & Production

At Edelhorn, our in-house design department draws inspiration from current fashion trends and integrates them into the development of our new collections. This ensures that each piece you wear is not only fashionable but also a timeless one-of-a-kind creation made from horn.

We place great value on constant trend research and our close connection to the fashion world—this allows us to offer collections that are always up-to-date, stylish, and unique.

1. The Design

The first stage of the design process usually begins on paper. We are inspired by classic forms and lines—shapes that represent timeless elegance and versatile beauty. Nature is also a key source of inspiration for us.

Horn, with its distinctive grain and natural color variations, is the perfect raw material for bold designs and strikingly beautiful pieces.

2. Selection and Preparation of Horn

We begin by selecting only the finest-quality horn. Each piece is thoroughly boiled, cleaned, disinfected, and dried. The horn is then split, heated in an oven, and pressed flat using a high-pressure press.

3. The Manufacturing Process

From the resulting plates, we precisely cut or mill each model using a vector-based template. The pieces are then carefully sanded—both mechanically and by hand—meticulously polished, and finally assembled with great attention to detail into elegant horn jewelry.
